HISTORY
Pipes and Drums of Barnegat Bay was started in February of 2007 as a practice chanter group. Most of the group never had any experience with bagpipes. We added a drum section in the fall. Most of the students are children.
Christ Episcopal Church is supporting our band as an out-reach project. They provide us with a place to practice, publicity, use of land for our festival, and much more.
Our tartan is Irving of Bonshaw-family. The Irving's come from Bonshaw Towers and have a rich history. Bonshaw Towers is in the south of Scotland near the English border.
